Formation Training Area Alpha-NAS Lemoore(KNLC)

The area shown in the figure below, outlined by Intersections cyprs ,budee and hondo has been designated Area Alpha and is to be used for formation practice.

To perform operational training exercises in Area Alpha, proceed from KNLC via Departure Route HELMM ONE or NEWTS TWO (ref. SOP-02), then to BIG SUR (BSR) VOR. Report “feet wet” at BSR. Proceed on BSR radial 212 for 20.1 nm to Intersection corse to begin formation exercise.

Return course should via Intersection corse and BSR to the appropriate Arrival Route.

This routing does not cross controlled airspace and can be flown VFR, at or below 17,500’ without a flight plan.
